This past week I was with the high schoolers from my church (FPC-Bethlehem) on a mission trip in Portland, Maine. There, various student groups worked together at several sites: Portland Housing Authority, Camp Sunshine, The Root Cellar, Preble Street Soup Kitchen, and Habitat for Humanity. The theme for the mission trip was “Get Real”, where we had students explore about getting real through their community, worship, life, expectations, etc. Working with the high schoolers this summer is really helping me as a person spiritually. Seeing God work through their lives inspires me, and I see more of God working in my life because I never cared to notice. Developing relationships with these students is quite a blessing, and I hope that all the work done through this summer motivates these students to just live a life worthy of their calling.

Lately, I’ve been reading a lot of out Ephesians, especially chapters 4 & 5: Live a life worthy of your calling, put off your old nature and put on the new, wake up, wise up, and just get real. I’m really liking the fact that I am working in His ministry this summer. I’ve been learning a lot of new things about worship leading, studying the Bible, and building relationships with others in a deeper level. I couldn’t be happier!

As for Rwanda, it is less than a month away now. I’m nervous, excited, and scared. I really don’t know what to expect when I get there. But I just ask that God will ready my heart, brighten it, and create in me a peace. Still not sure what the camcorder situation will be like yet, but God works in mysterious ways, and I’m sure He will end up providing for the documentary somehow. Keep praying for me. As for fundraising, I’m not sure where I’m at right now, I should be getting an update on that soon from Calvary Baptist Church.

Thank you for your support. To be honest, I am a little blind to who donated, because Calvary church has kept all the records and hasn’t given me a list to personally say a very large thank you to you! So THANK YOU for your prayers, support, and kind words. I am blessed.

Keep it real.
